Don't Need CD In The Drive

Updated 18 Jul
The program always prompts you to insert the CD in the drive, even if
you copied everything to your Hard Disk. The following patch makes the
game look for the Hard Disk, which is already present, instead of the
CD.
The folder which contains data the program needs is invisible. So
first you should copy the whole CD to your Hard Disk. This will create
a 34 MB large folder on your Hard Disk called Dark Forces Special
Edition.
Now make the folder called DF SE Data visible using a program like
ResEdit (Choose Get File/Folder Info... From the File menu, and
uncheck the invisible box).
Now make a new folder where you want to keep the Dark Forces program.
Copy the program itself, the Read me, the Controller settings and the
Data folder to this new folder.
Now delete the old folder. This is important. Do NOT move this folder.
It contains more invisible files (the Desktop files in case you like
to know). These files could confuse the Finder, and cause potential
loss of data if you keep them, so although the folder might seem
empty, be sure to delete it.
Finally open the program file using ResEdit or Resorcerer, and change
the following data:

STR# 129, string number 1:
change "Dark Forces Special Edition:DF SE Data:;Dark Forces Special
Edition:DF SE Data:Cutscenes:"
to the location of the new folders (for example "HD:Dark Forces:DF SE
Data:;HD:Dark Forces:DF SE Data:Cutscenes:" if it's located on the
Hard Disk called HD inside a folder called Dark Forces. of your Hard
Disk.
Note that the length of the second path (after the ";" shouldn't
exceed 52 bytes in length or the game will give an error.

STR# 129, string number 2:
change "Dark Forces Special Edition:DF SE Data:Dark Forces Instruments 1"
to the new location of this file (for example "HD:Dark Forces:DF SE
Data:Dark Forces Instruments 1" if it's located on the Hard Disk
called HD inside the DF SE Data folder, which is inside a folder
called Dark Forces.

STR# 129, string number 3:
change "Dark Forces Special Edition:DF SE Data:Dark Forces Instruments 2"
to the new location of this file (for example "HD:Dark Forces:DF SE
Data:Dark Forces Instruments 2" if it's located on the Hard Disk
called HD inside the DF SE Data folder, which is inside a folder
called Dark Forces.
