Island Storm Bug

Every so often when the F-4U starts his takeoff, he does a 180 and
falls off the deck into the drink. This happens right as you're
starting to increase power. Graphic Simulations (the producer) reports
this has happened with a few other users.

Recover From A Bad Landing

As long as your engine is still working, even if you overshoot the
runway and stop in the grass you don't have to fall prey to the blind
search party syndrome.

Just reduce throttle to 10 or 20 percent, and put the brakes on. Keep
the brakes on and turn around

Release the brakes and slowly taxi back to base.

Once you're on the tarmac again, you can stop and switch off like a
normal landing. Throttle setting isn't at all critical, but things get
a bit bumpy if you taxi too fast on the grass so I usually go dead
slow.

Zoom To Anywhere

Type control-"S" to put the game into a cheat mode that allows you to
zoom anywhere in the simulation universe in seconds.

Now you can use the following keys:

1 and 7:
lower and raise altitude.

3 to 6:
times will give you the proper speed - too much, and
you'll be shooting into the stratosphere in a second.

5:
will freeze your x-y-z location, and you can rotate your plane
at any angle, floating in the air. Weapons still work, and the
simulation continues to play (the enemy is still looking for you).

8:
zooms you forward (in relationship to which way your plane is
pointed), etc.

Using the tower mode, and the "+" and "-" keys, you can practice
zooming techniques.
