Secret Shine

At the dune bug level, squirt the dune bug that leads to steps with the coins, instead of getting the coins squirt at the wall and you should uncover a picture of a shine, if you manage to uncover the whole picture you will get the shine.

Go to the Airport

Collect all 120 shines and go back to the airport, there will be a level with lots of extra bonuses!

Mario in a Hawaiian Shirt

After completing the game go and talk to the man with the sunglasses, he will give you a Hawaiian shirt to wear!

Mario Sunglasses

At some point further in the game, go and talk to the man with sunglasses on, he will then give you a pair.

Note: If you turn off your GameCube or enter a level the sunglasses will be lost, go and talk to the man again to get another pair.

Easy Shine

Collect 10 blue coins and go to the house in the dock with a palm tree on top, talk to the man inside and he will give you a Shine!

99 Lives

Go to Rocco Harbour and go down the first manhole and walk along, jump out of the first manhole you come to and go left, break the brown box to get a life then press Start and go to Exit Area. Repeat 99 times to gain all possible lives.
